SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. – Six deaths in Skagit County are being attributed to last month’s record-breaking heat wave.
The Skagit County Coroner’s Office said the deaths were reported between June 28th and July 4th.
Chief Deputy Coroner Deb Hollis told the Skagit Valley Herald the deceased were three men and three women between the ages of 60 and 94.
Three of the victims were from Mount Vernon, while Anacortes, Sedro-Woolley and Hamilton each reported one death.
Yesterday, the state Department of Health reported 78 heat-related deaths statewide.
The Skagit County deaths bring that total to 84.
