Scottish Government responds to attack over lack of clarity over re-opening Scots island communities MINISTERS have defended their cautious approach after Scots island communities called on Nicola Sturgeon to intervene to give urgent clarity over the easing of lockdown restrictions and when they can reopen to visitors from the mainland. Argyll and Bute Council leader Robin Currie has told the First Minister in a letter that it is deeply disappointing that after two updates on the easing of lockdown restrictions - island communities remain in the dark over how this affects them. Businesses say the Scottish Government’s failure to provide a date for when travel to and from the islands can resume has triggered a “wave of cancellations” from visitors.

The Scottish Tourism Alliance is seeking 25 ambassadors to help raise the profile of the nation’s food tourism sector. As part of the programme, ambassadors will be recruited from across the many sectors of Scotland’s food and drink sector. Producers, bloggers, educators, chefs, retailers and more are invited to play their part. The body is looking for people who demonstrate a passion in promoting Scottish produce, destinations and experiences.

They are looking for individuals to champion the country’s sector and the experiences it offers.
Celebrate Scotland’s local larder as an ambassador.
The ambassadors will be recruited from the many different sectors of Scotland’s vibrant food and drink industry; individuals who demonstrate a passion in raising the profile of Scotland’s food tourism sector, our destinations, food and drink experiences and Scotland as a global food tourism destination.
