ITV News Scotland Correspondent Peter Smith hears from Nicola Sturgeon on whether the Scottish independence debate could reach the Supreme Court
Nicola Sturgeon has told ITV News she is feeling quietly confident about an overall SNP majority and that Scotland will have another independence referendum within the next five years.
She added that the push for another vote on Scotland s future could go as high as the Supreme Court.
In the Scottish Parliamentary election, 65 is the magic number for an overall majority - a figure the SNP is chasing in hope of a mandate for IndyRef2.

Giving an acceptance speech in Glasgow after she defeated Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar by 19,735 votes to 10,279, the First Minister said her party is set for a fourth term in power.
Earlier, she had played down the likelihood of an overall SNP majority at Holyrood, saying it has “always been a very, very long shot”.
After being re-elected to her seat, Ms Sturgeon said: “If that is indeed the outcome of this election, I pledge today to get back to work immediately to continue to steer the country through the crisis of Covid, to continue to lead this country into recovery from Covid.
RACHAEL Hamilton from the Scottish Conservatives has been elected as the MSP for Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire following the 2021 Scottish Parliament election contest. Voters went to the polls yesterday (Thursday, May 6), with the count held in Kelso’s Borders Event Centre today. Mrs Hamilton, who won the by-election in 2017, will return to Holyrood for another term after securing a majority of 6,863 votes. The total number of votes cast was 36,122 (turnout 64 per cent). There were 81 rejected ballot papers. In a speech following the declaration, Mrs Hamilton said the Conservatives in the Borders have been going from strength to strength . I think that speaks volumes to what the electorate want, she said. The constituents I ve been speaking to over the past few days have been absolutely resolute in the fact that they want people to be rebuilding from the pandemic - not about division and breaking up our United Kingdom.
