BOLTON S Le Mans Crescent will be the backdrop for yet another hit TV show with filming for the second series of forensic crime drama Traces taking place all week. Produced by RED Production Company, which also made recent Channel 4 drama It s A Sin, which also used the historic street as a set, the suspense-fuelled thriller was based on an original idea by best-selling crime writer Val McDermid where forensic science takes centre stage. Set in Scotland and exploring the world of the Scottish Institute of Forensic Science (SIFA), series one introduced Emma Hedges (Molly Windsor), Prof. Sarah Gordon (Laura Fraser) and Prof. Kathy Torrence (Jennifer Spence) who together use forensic science to uncover the truth about the murder of Emma’s mother.

BBC, actor Martin Compston has revealed that the forensic drama will be returning to our screens later this year for a second series.

What will happen in Traces season 2?
The crime drama series is set in Scotland and the three main characters have connections to SIFA, the Scottish Institute of Forensic Science.
The first season introduced Emma Hedges, Sarah Gordon and Kathy Torrence who all have forensic science backgrounds.
They use their knowledge to discover the truth about the murder of Emma’s mother.
Season two will explore similar themes as the women assess evidence to help discover who is responsible for a series of bombings in Dundee.
