Nicola Sturgeon has been accused of failing to answer basic questions about Scottish independence after she struggled to explain how the Scottish economy could be bailed out of a major crisis without its own central bank or currency.
The First Minister denied that Scotland had been “rescued” from the pandemic by Treasury support or Britain’s world-leading vaccine procurement programme, which she compared to the annual purchase of flu jabs.
