Tunnel between UK and Northern Ireland championed by Boris Johnson moves a step closer Neil Lancefield
Proposals that have been championed by Boris Johnson for a tunnel or bridge to connect Northern Ireland and Scotland moved a step closer today as a feasibility study was commissioned.
The major transport connectivity review is being carried out as part of the Prime Minister’s bid to improve UK transport links.
Mr Johnson first backed the idea of connecting Larne in Northern Ireland to Stranraer in Scotland with a bridge when he was foreign secretary in 2018.
There is no problem with distance, money or the Beaufort’s Dyke explosives disposal area, according to Mr Johnson.
