Extratime com - Extratime ie - Former Dundalk star Jamie McGrath named St Mirren Player of the Year

Jamie McGrath has been crowned St Mirren player of the year after a brilliant season with the Paisley outfit. The Athboy native scored 14 goals this season from midfield, helping the Buddies to their highest Scottish top-flight finish since 1989.   They finished in 7 th place having agonisingly missed out on a place in the top 6 before the league split. The 24-year-old began his playing career with hometown club Athboy Celtic in Meath before moving on to Dublin club Cherry Orchard.  He would then take in spells with UCD and St Patrick’s Athletic before enjoying a trophy-laden stint at Dundalk where he won two league titles and an FAI Cup during his time at Oriel Park.
