Covid in Scotland: Calls for clarity on masks in nightclubs

Drinking while standing at bar has not been permitted since lockdown easing in a bid to limit the spread of Covid. Deputy First Minister John Swinney told BBC Radio s Good Morning Scotland that would remain the case when most restrictions are lifted on 9 August. But a senior figure in the Scottish Beer & Pub Association later tweeted it has been given the green light. And the Scottish Licensed Trade Association (SLTA) said it had been told by Scottish government officials on Wednesday that vertical drinking would be allowed in pubs from next Monday, when laws and physical distancing and the size of social gatherings will be lifted.
