Children can discover their superpowers at Shreve Memorial Library Samantha Bonnette Did you ever imagine yourself as a superhero flying through the air with superhuman strength saving the world? Wouldn’t it be nice to have superpowers – the ability to read minds, become invisible or leap over a building in a single bound? That would be amazing indeed! But what if I told you that we all have a superpower and that you are using that superpower right now? Would you believe me? Well, you should because reading is a superpower. From May 3 through May 9, Shreve Memorial Library is joining libraries, schools, bookstores, parents and children’s book lovers everywhere in celebrating Children’s Book Week and encouraging children to discover their superpower.

Mystery writers serve up their secrets in Bonita Library virtual lecture series By Vicky Bowles, Special to the Daily News © Submitted Charles and Caroline Todd are mother and son who write mysteries. Charles Todd will speak in the 2021 Author Series benefitting the Friends of the Bonita Springs Library. A double bill of murder mysteries and legal thrillers make up this year’s author lectures from the Friends of the Bonita Springs Library. The two programs on Feb. 25 and March 25 will be online, virtual-only, in keeping with pandemic safety recommendations. Cost for each lecture is $10, with a limit of just 100 participants.
