Jerome Hernandez, a 26-year-old man from Carnbee, Tobago, was arrested for possession of marijuana for trafficking, during an anti-crime exercise.
According to police reports, searches were conducted at the Scarborough Port Authority compound, where several vehicles, luggage, and passengers leaving the T&T Spirit Fast Ferry and the Cabo Star vessels were searched.
While the searches were being conducted, the officers approached a white Mitsubishis Lancer driven by Hernandez. A search was conducted of the vehicle, and in the trunk of the vehicle four rectangular blocks of marijuana were allegedly found and seized.
The marijuana weighed 2.026 kilograms. Hernandez was arrested and charged for possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

A 27-year-old Tobago man has been charged with the murder of Kenneth Jack, who was shot in 2019 and died a year later.
Jameel Legall was charged with the murder on Thursday after advice was given by Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard, SC. He is expected to appear virtually at the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
He was previously charged with Jack’s attempted murder after the shooting on November 9, 2019.
Jack died in October 2020 as a result of his wounds.
Investigations were carried out by Homicide Region One under the supervision of acting Sen Supt Vena Butler.
