Florida COVID nursing home cases, deaths reach all-time low, says AARP

As of Sunday, 11,189 residents and staff members of Florida s long-term care facilities had died of COVID-19, according to data provided by the Florida Department of Health. That s an additional 269 deaths since March 19. In Volusia County, 292 residents and staff have died of the virus; 18 have died in Flagler County; and 86 have died in St. Johns County.  AARP’s coronavirus dashboard, which is updated every four weeks, was created using data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the AARP Public Policy Institute in collaboration with the Scripps Gerontology Center at Miami University in Ohio. The goal is to identify specific areas of concern at the national and state levels in a timely manner.
