The Crew-2 flight lifted off on time at 5:49 a.m. EST from Kennedy Space Center s Launch Complex 39A. LIVE COVERAGE:  Here is a breakdown of each astronaut and their experience.  SHANE KIMBROUGH Shane Kimbrough is a NASA astronaut. Prior to this, the space agency said that Kimbrough was a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and became an Army aviator. He spent time in Operation Desert Storm, as an attack helicopter platoon leader, aviation liaison officer, attack helicopter battalion operations officer, and Apache helicopter commander.

Heat bomb describes the pockets of warm water from the Pacific Ocean that are speeding up the melting of sea ice. When the warm, salty and dense Pacific Ocean water enters the area through the Bering Strait, it settles deep beneath the frozen surface.
