Marvel Studios recently released the first official trailer for “Eternals” and it is already looking quite epic.
Starting off ominously with the song “The End of the World” by Skeeter Davis in the background, the trailer presents the arrival of the god-like beings to Earth aboard a massive spacecraft. What follows next is the demonstration of their skills and powers, which are potent in their mission of helping humanity.
The third offering in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’ (MCU) Phase Four has a story that spans thousands of years. According to Marvel Studios, the movie picks off from the events after “Avengers: Endgame.” After living in hiding for many years, the ancient aliens, the Eternals, come out of the shadows to fight against mankind’s oldest enemy, the Deviants.

It looks like Marvel’s decided to blow up the internet this morning, with them finally releasing the first trailer for Chloe Zhao’s
ETERNALS! Overall, it’s a pretty intriguing look, with the film having a distinct visual palate courtesy of Zhao (and Marvel house DP Ben Davis) that eschews the usual orange and teal look for something more naturalistic. I dug the way the trailer started, with Skeeter Davis’s “The End of the World”, segueing to quick glimpses of Angelina Jolie in action as Thena, a ripped Kumail Nanjiani in Bollywood mode as Kingo, while Gemma Chan’s Sersi does indeed seem to be the lead as previously teased. Notably, her and Richard Madden have top billing on the new poster, with Jolie getting and and credit, making me wonder if her role is relatively small? It also reveals Sersi s romance with Madden’s Ikaris, with them even seemingly shown to be married at some point. O
