The countdown clocks for high school seniors are finally nearing their end, and school districts are finalizing graduation plans with many looking to offer in-person ceremonies.
Districts have embraced far more in-person events this spring compared to last year after state rules opened the door to more activities, and some large ceremonies are scheduled at the Times Union Center and Saratoga Performing Arts Center.
Some districts will mandate guests to the graduation ceremonies show proof of vaccination, a recent negative test for COVID-19 or evidence they previously recovered from the virus, following those state guidelines.

SCHENECTADY – Schenectady City School District voters outside of the polling places Tuesday expressed frustration with district leadership and a lack of stability in the superintendent position, as well as support of the work going on in the district.
Multiple voters outside of four polling locations in the city said they were “looking for a change” or wanted “new blood” on the school board, citing frustration with how the board has handled the confidential departure of former superintendent Larry Spring and failed to hire a replacement.
