A farmworker who was arrested in connection with alleged breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, has been charged by the narcotics police and is to appear in court on Friday, March 12.
He is Ochena Demetri, a farmworker of Gimmi-mi-Bit, Clarendon.
He has been charged with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, taking steps preparatory to export cocaine, and conspiracy to export cocaine.
According to reports from the narcotics police, Demetri was checking in for a flight to Toronto, Canada on Wednesday, March 3, when his luggage was checked and cocaine was alleged found hidden in food items.
