BREAKING: Provisional data shows over 100 new Covid cases in Limerick as experts issue safety plea ahead of bank holiday Reporter:   ); PROVISIONAL data for Wednesday, June 2, shows there were 103 new COVID-19 cases in Limerick - the highest daily figure since January 19. The Mid-West Major Emergency Management Group is asking people in Limerick, Clare, and North Tipperary to enjoy the Bank Holiday Weekend safely and responsibly to halt the spread of COVID-19 in the community. In the two weeks leading up to June 2, there has been an increase of more than 800 cases in Limerick, 48 cases in Clare, and 32 cases in North Tipperary.

HSE Midwest investigating outbreaks of workplace related cases of Covid-19 By Live95 News Team via Pexels Public Health teams in Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary are tracking 156 close contacts from workplace related Covid cases. 53 workplace related cases are currently being investigated in the Mid-West. HSE Midwest say they are investigating 28 workplace situations of Covid-19 in places such as beauticians, offices, factories and small retail outlets. Health officials are urging people who are returning to work to attend the walk-in testing centre in Ballysimon or at St Joseph s Health Campus first. According to provisional data, Public Health Mid-West has recorded more than 680 COVID-19 cases in Limerick, more than 60 in Clare, and more than 30 in North Tipperary in the two week period between May 16 and May 30.

Concerns Over Covid-19 Spike In Limerick Limerick has experienced a Covid-19 spike over the past 10 days, according to Public Health Mid West. This includes 90 cases on Friday, 53 cases on Saturday, and 59 cases on Sunday.  The Department of Public Health Mid-West is encouraging people in Limerick who have symptoms, concerns, or been exposed to high-risk social settings to avail of the free walk-in test centre. “The free walk-in and drive-through Covid-19 testing clinic is located at St Joseph’s Health Campus, Mulgrave Street and is operating from 11am to 6.15pm until this Wednesday. No appointment is needed. The walk-in and drive-through at Unit 6D Eastpoint Business Park, on the Ballysimon Road is self-referral from 8am to 4pm, and appointment only between 4pm and 7pm.
