St Patrick s students support homeless people this Christmas with heart warming generosity

St Patrick s National School delivered over 300 care packages and provided a hot Christmas dinner to homeless people last Sunday. The Greystones school, church and greater community collected items for the care packages over the past two weeks. The students collected over 1,200 toys for children living in poverty in the city centre, and they provided Christmas dinner and festive entertainment at the weekend for homeless people in the Lighthouse Homeless Centre, Pearse Street. Speaking about the Christmas initiative, St. Patrick s School Principal, Rachel Harper said: This Christmas was always going to be different and we wanted to highlight to the children, what we can do, rather than what we can t do. So we thought about how our community could reach out to another, less fortunate ones and make a difference.
