WOOD RIVER Two new COVID-19 related deaths in Madison County were among the 40 reported Sunday by the Illinois Department of Public Health. The IDPH reported the Madison County deaths of a woman in her 50s and a man in his 60s. The Madison County Health Department reported seven COVID-19 related deaths Friday and Saturday. Friday’s deaths included a woman in her 70s, two women in their 80s annd a man in his 90s. Saturday’s deaths included three men, in their 50s, 60s and 70s.

The deaths included a Macoupin County woman in her 90s and four Madison County women, three in their 80s and one in her 90s. The IDPH also reported 6,642 new confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases on Friday for a total to date of 1,059,324 cases, including 18,049 deaths. Late Thursday the Madison County Health Department reported three new COVID-19 related deaths one woman in her 80s and two women in their 90s to take the county’s virus death toll to 399.

WOOD RIVER Four Madison County deaths were among the 81 COVID-19 related deaths reported Sunday by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). The IDPH identified the deceased as a man in his 70s, a man in his 80s, a woman in her 90s and a man in his 90s. The IDPH also reported 4,711 new confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases. Late Saturday the Madison County Health Department reported four new COVID-19 related deaths a man in his 70s, two men in their 80s and a man in his 90s to bring the county’s virus death toll to 387. No deaths were reported Friday.
