Tributes paid after well-known Morecambe businessman Ken Allen passes away
Tributes have flooded in after Lancaster and Morecambe residents heard the news that popular scrapyard owner Ken Allen had passed away.

Dozens of floral tributes adorn the gates of Ken Allen Auto Wreckers on White Lund after the news broke on Sunday.
Many people were quick to pay tribute on social media, remembering him as a man who was always happy to help people out with their car problems.
Ken Allen Auto Wreckers deals with car parts, scrapping cars and sales, and is well known around the district as people s go-to for any help they need fixing or scrapping their vehicles.

A boy hit by a spring that flew off a stockcar and into the crowd in a freak accident at the Meeanee Speedway on Saturday night is recovering well.
An investigation has begun into the incident during Saturday s racing, which included the first demolition derby of the 2020/2021 season, the Hawke s Bay Streetstock Championships and races for in the saloon, superstock, stockcar and ministock classes.
A St John ambulance took young speedway fan Maddox Lui to Hawke s Bay Hospital with concussion after he was hit by the spring while he watched the action.

A mass migration eastwards for Wanganui Stockcar drivers is under way.
Seventeen Wanganui cars are among the 230-plus entrants for the Hawke s Bay Doors New Zealand Stockcar Championship at Meeanee Speedway this weekend.
Qualifying takes place tonight, and with only 24 places in the 30-car finals field available from the eight qualifying groups it is going to be absolutely cut-throat.

Meeanee is getting ready to host New Zealand biggest stockcar championship - by numbers - on Friday and Saturday.
Speedway promoter Bruce Robertson said the field of 233 cars for the Hawke s Bay Doors New Zealand Stockcar Championships is the biggest ever by miles for the national championship.
