Becerra, a Los Angeles congressman since 1992, must still be confirmed by both the California Assembly and Senate, but no one doubts he will have the votes necessary to secure the appointment. Whatever you think of Trump’s positions on China, it’s a sharp contrast to what we’ve heard from President-elect Joe Biden on the same issues, which is essentially not much.
