KEYES, Calif. A shooting investigation is underway in Stanislaus County after a teenager was shot and killed in Keyes.
The shooting happened around 8:48 p.m. on Sunday night. T. Luke Schwartz, Sergeant and public information officer with the Stanislaus County Sheriff s Office told ABC10 the shooting occurred in an area where several people were eating at the taco trucks in the area of Martha Avenue and 7th Street. Supposedly a fight happened at the taco trucks and our victim was an unintentional victim when the shots were fired, Schwartz said.

The teen was pronounced dead at the scene. According to witnesses, there were several people eating near taco trucks when a fight broke out. Preliminary investigative findings suggest the victim was an unintended victim unfortunately struck by gunfire, the sheriff s office said in a news release Monday.Authorities say the driver of a silver car was seen fleeing the area and is believed to be involved in the deadly shooting. KEYES (CBS13) Authorities say a fight at some taco trucks near Keyes over the weekend escalated to a shooting that left a teenage boy dead.
The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office says, a little before 9 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to the area of Martha Avenue and 7th Street in unincorporated Keyes to investigate a reported shooting.
An unresponsive teenage boy was then found in the middle of the road. First responders started live-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
