Coronavirus deranges the immune system in complex and deadly ways

There s a reason soldiers go through basic training before heading into combat: Without careful instruction, green recruits armed with powerful weapons could be as dangerous to one another as to the enemy. The immune system works much the same way. Immune cells, which protect the body from infections, need to be educated to recognize bad guys and to hold their fire around civilians. Risk of rebound headaches increases in people using cannabis for migraine treatment ANI | Updated: Mar 07, 2021 19:36 IST Washington [US], March 7 (ANI): Researchers during a recent study found that individuals, who use cannabis for relief from migraine, might later develop rebound headaches. This would be similar to headaches that people who overuse migraine pain medication experience. The preliminary study released on March 1 and will be presented at the American Academy of Neurology s 73rd Annual Meeting being held virtually from April 17 to 22, 2021. Many people with chronic migraine are already self-medicating with cannabis, and there is some evidence that cannabis can help treat other types of chronic pain, said study author Niushen Zhang, M.D., of Stanford University School of Medicine in Stanford, California, and a member of the American Academy of Neurology.
