KNOXVILLE, Tenn. In a prayer circle Tuesday, 12-year-old Simeon Jones had a clear message. People my age and lower are dying. My age, he said. I m tired of having to be worried about me dying at school.
He attends Vine Middle School, which largely feeds into Austin-East Magnet High School. His older sister was there when the shooting happened.

(KNOXVILLE) A shooting at Knoxville s Austin-East Arts Magnet School Monday (4/12/2021) has left one student dead and a Knoxville school resource officer is in UT Medical Center with serious injuries.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation held a press conference, and TBI Director David Rausch described what happened . . .
Rausch said the officers were wearing body cameras, and pictures of the shooting are being studied with evidence being given to the Knox County District Attorney.

This is the fourth unnecessary shooting involving the Austin East community this year and we must
