So Steven Stamkos injury unrelated to the core surgery in March 2020 and the repair procedure in offseason. A different injury altogether. Good news for #tblightning is they’re hopeful he’ll be back when eligible May 5. https://t.co/inG5mEyfqW

Vancouver Canucks
After going through the best trade deadline deals in Canucks history, we need to keep it fair by going through the worst.
In fairness, there’s no loss on here that was as monumental as Cam Neely for Barry Pederson.

I would argue that the Canucks trade deadline wins were greater than their losses. As you can see below, there’s not a ton separating the worst trades here, forcing me to cheat a bit with the number one pick on this list.
The moral of the story of these trades shouldn’t be new…trading draft picks for old guys usually doesn’t work out.

One of the few common threads with the New Jersey Devils over the past four-plus decades is that one rarely knows when a move is made until it is made. This evening, General Manager Tom Fitzgerald pulled a trigger on a big trade. Now we know the move. The New Jersey Devils sent Kyle Palmieri
and Travis Zajac to the New York Islanders for their first round pick in 2021, a conditional fourth round pick in 2022, left wing A.J. Greer, and forward Mason Jobst. As announced by the Devils, New Jersey will retain 50% of the remaining salaries of Zajac and Palmieri.

I don’t think many (if any) Devils fans were surprised to see Kyle Palmieri being traded last night. The fact that he went to the New York Islanders was also somewhat predictable based on reports going around.
That Travis Zajac went with him caught quite a few people (myself included) off guard.
After celebrating his 1000th game in his career and in red and black this season, the possibility of Zajac chasing a cup certainly existed. However, I think many of us wanted (and somewhat maybe even expected) him to stick with his no trade clause and remain a career Devil.
