Bjorn Ulvaeus rules out ABBA biopic

ABBA have ruled out a biopic while they are still alive. Bjorn Ulvaeus has insisted he wouldn t want an actor to play him on the big screen in a film like Queen s Bohemian Rhapsody or Sir Elton John s Rocketman and doubts his bandmates would either. The founding member of the iconic Swedish pop outfit - also comprising Benny Andersson, Agnetha Faltskog and Frida Lyndstad - said:  “I don’t think we would want that actually, I certainly know myself I wouldn’t want an actor - not while I’m alive - to play me on the big screen and I don’t think the others would like that either.”

UK s nul points for ABBA in 1974 may have been tactical, says Bjorn

The Swedish singer-songwriter, aged 75, made the comments while reflecting on their win 47 years later.  The Swedish pop group, who were little-known at the time, shook the international song contest with their performance of Waterloo in Brighton.  Swedish pop group Abba, performs during the the Eurovision Song Contest 1974 on February 09, 1974 in Brighton with their song Waterloo Swedish pop group Abba hold the first prize they won with their song Waterloo at the Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton Meanwhile Olivia Newton John was representing the UK with her song Long Live Love.  Speaking to BBC Breakfast, Ulvaeus said it certainly could have been the case that the UK deliberately gave the performance the lowest possible score as they perceived them as a threat.
