Several people arrested over the weekend ANGOLA — The following people were booked into the Steuben County Jail following arrests made by law enforcement officers over the weekend. Formal charges, if any, are filed in court by the Steuben County Prosecutor’s Office. • Hunter P. Boger, 21, of the 1000 block of Angela Avenue, Auburn, arrested on North Wayne Street at Weatherhead Street on a charge of misdemeanor operating while intoxicated. • Amber M. Branning, 35, of the 1400 block of Wohlert Street, arrested at home on charges of felony possession of cocaine or narcotics and misdemeanor possession of marijuana or hashish. • Rachael L. Brown, 38, of the 1000 block of Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, arrested at the jail on a warrant.

Man jailed on burglary charge

ANGOLA — A Pleasant Lake man is facing a Level 4 felony burglary of a dwelling charge after he allegedly stole items from a Jimmerson Lake seasonal residence on Feb. 7, court records say. Thomas A. Sitts, 21, was arrested Sunday in Angola on unrelated charges then was served with an arrest warrant for the burglary charge while he was in Steuben County Jail on Tuesday. Sitts allegedly went to a home on Lane 205 Jimmerson Lake with a friend who was a caretaker of the property, who went there to plow the snow and remove downed branches from the yard, court records say. While at the property, Sitts was in the garage while the other person performed his tasks. While in the garage, court records say, Sitts could be seen on a security camera, unlocking an entry door to the garage.

Glick to take over LaGrange County Prosecutor s Office

LAGRANGE — Travis Glick has been nominated by the LaGrange County Republican Party to fill the soon to be vacant job of LaGrange County Prosecutor. Glick was nominated Tuesday night to fill the final two years of the prosecutor’s term in office by a caucus of Republican precinct committee members. Glick, 38, had served as the LaGrange County Prosecutor’s office chief deputy. He will replace Greg Kenner, the current LaGrange County Prosecutor who will retire at the end of this year. Kenner has two years left on his current term, and nominated Glick, saying Glick was the right person to take over as the county’s prosecutor.
