Gripped by scandal in the summer of 2018, CBS came up with a way to contain the crisis.
The television giant’s board hired two outside law firms to investigate sexual misconduct claims against its longtime leader, Leslie Moonves, and to scour the company for traces of a toxic atmosphere.
Lawyers with those high-caliber firms promised “a thorough and independent inquiry.” They invited CBS employees to report “sexual harassment, retaliation or the unfair treatment of women,” according to their Aug. 15, 2018, email.
Margaret Cronan said the message filled her with “tremendous relief.” A year earlier, she had walked away from a prestigious, high-paying position running the newsroom at CBS’ Philadelphia TV station a job she loved but could no longer stomach.

Ulster succeeded in consolidating their lead at the top of Conference A with a comfortable victory over Connacht in Galway on Sunday.
It was the first time in five years that Dan McFarlandâs side has left the Sportsground with a victory and they were deserving winners after taking control of the second half, posting 23 points, and limiting Connacht to a single try.
This was a big statement from Ulster. Missing 17 players, including a raft of big-names, they produced a display of real energy, particularly in defence, which stymied Connachtâs best efforts, while Ian Madigan posted 22 points through his boot.

THE LAST TIME Ian Madigan played in the Heineken Champions Cup, it was against Ulster at the Kingspan Stadium.
Nearly four years on from that appearance for Bordeaux in January 2017, the out-half is set for his European bow in Ulster colours against Toulouse this evening [KO 8pm, BT Sport].

IT LEFT YOU on the edge of your seat for the entire game, but ultimately Ulster’s valiant unbeaten home record came to an end at the hands of Toulouse in an utterly enthralling Heineken Champions Cup tie at Kingspan Stadium.
The two sides shared seven tries, the visitors walking away with the maximum haul from the game, but it was the star quality of Antoine Dupont and Cheslin Kolbe which made the difference between the two sides as the Toulouse stars provided three sensational solo scores to earn them the bonus point victory.
