The Health Department of Northwest Michigan has identified the first case of the new COVID-19 variant otherwise known as the U.K or B117 variant in its four-county jursidiction.
The health department was notified late Sunday, Feb. 7, of the first case in an adult male in Charlevoix County. The case was identified through active surveillance by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
Case investigation and contact tracing have been completed and no new cases of the variant have been identified in the Northern Michigan region at this time, the health department said.

Long-serving Town coach Bryan Klug has been sacked. Klug, a one-time Blues youth player and academy director, was assistant manager under Jim Magilton until John Gorman’s appointment last Christmas when he moved into a head of football development role, before taking charge of the reserves this season.
Klug was a youth player with the Blues between 1977 and 1983 but failed to make a senior appearance, moving on to Wimbledon (loan), Chesterfield and Peterborough United and then into non-league football.
The 49-year-old returned to Portman Road in 1987, joining the coaching staff and in 1998 became the director of the newly formed academy in an era during which Kieron Dyer, Richard Wright, Titus Bramble and others emerged.

All my life I had been conscious of an ancestral connection to Shetland, but like many Australians of my generation, I had only a few fragments to assemble the jigsaw that was my Scottish heritage.
I knew that my great-grandfather, William Pole Williamson, had been born in Lerwick in 1854; that he and his older brother had relocated with their father to Edinburgh where, I was told, they shortened their surname to Williams.

The London Branch of the Supporters Club will be meeting up at the Sheephaven Public House in Camden to watch the East Anglian derby against Norwich City at Carrow Road on Sunday 10th February (from 11.00am)
In addition to the match there will be fundraising events for The Beat Goes On, the fundraising campaign for the Kevin Beattie statue.
