Quick-moving snowstorm doesn’t deter a walk in the park

According to KSL’s Grant Weyman, the storm is expected to bring heavy snow to the mountains, as well as rain and snow to lower elevations throughout the state. Skies along the Wasatch Front on Wednesday were cloudy with temperatures dropping from Tuesday’s 50s. Another round of snow showers are expected Friday, but there should be little accumulation. SALT LAKE CITY Week two of the 2021 Utah Legislature began with news that one Utah lawmaker is hospitalized with COVID-19 and two others tested positive for the disease.
Rep. Jon Hawkins, R-Pleasant Grove, has been hospitalized with the novel coronavirus after becoming ill before the session started Jan. 19. On Monday, Sen. Todd Weiler, R-Woods Cross, and Senate Budget Vice Chairman Don Ipson, R-St. George, both tested positive during rapid testing that is available to lawmakers and Capitol Hill staff.
Ipson tested negative Jan. 22 and remained in Salt Lake City over the weekend, but after testing positive on Monday, he returned to St. George.

Donovan Mitchell and Derrick Favors traveled to Denver with the Utah Jazz on Friday night ahead of their Sunday afternoon matchup with the Nuggets, but there’s a chance the Jazz could be playing without both of them for a third straight game.
Mitchell entered the league’s concussion protocol after a physical game against the New York Knicks on Tuesday and Favors has been dealing with lower back soreness for a while. Favors was upgraded to ‘questionable’ before being ruled out for the Jazz’s game against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday.
