William Urban: Stuart Woods writes pure entertainment William Urban Long-time readers will know that I follow Stuart Woods fairly closely. That is, I haven’t read all seventy-five of his entertaining short novels, but I listen to those available as audio-books at the Warren County Library. Readers may remember that I preferred the younger (though middle-aged) Stone Barrington to today’s somewhat jaded edition. That is, when Stone was struggling to pay the immediate bills for his New York mansion, his country homes, his airplane and yacht, and the meals at the finest restaurants, there was more to his character than the super-rich, well-connected, and somewhat self-satisfied person he had become. Of course, readers may disagree on this, particularly if their politics drift off into that dream land where only ultra-liberal Democrats flourish.
