(KNSI) – A Waite Park man is charged with a felony after he called police saying he had accidentally fired a gun in his apartment.
A Stearns County District Court criminal complaint says 23-year-old Tanner John Thill called police just after 9 p.m. Wednesday. Officers responded to the building near the 1400 blcok of 7th Street South in Waite Park. The complaint says Thill was visibly intoxicated when officers arrived.
Officers found a bullet hole in the floor and a gun in Thill’s bedroom. The apartment below Thill’s was vacant, and no injuries were reported. Thill told officers that he was cleaning his gun and it went off when he set it on a table.
St. Cloud Man Faces Burglary, Assault Charges

Darrian Ambrose was charged in Stearns County District Court Friday.
St. Cloud Police Officers were called to an apartment complex in the 3400 block of 22
nd Street South on Thursday around 6:15 a.m. When officers arrived, the woman told them Ambrose, her ex-boyfriend, had entered and assaulted her male friend. The woman told officers she believed Ambrose had entered the apartment with a copy of her key he made without her permission.
According to the complaint, the woman told officers she and her friend were sleeping in a bedroom when Ambrose woke them up by hitting the man in the face with a candle holder. The man says Ambrose hit him at least four times. Eventually, the man was able to get out of the bed, push Ambrose out of the room and hold the door shut.

Charges have been filed against a motorist alleging that he purposely hit another car with his vehicle multiple times near St. Cloud before getting out and putting his fist through the driver s side window of the other car and punching a man in the face.
Gerald M. Salzer, 55, of St. Cloud, was charged in Stearns County District Court last week with gross misdemeanor property damage and misdemeanor assault in connection with the rolling road rage incident that occurred shortly before 7 a.m. on Jan. 20.
