1 dead in crash involving FedEx tractor trailer on Long Island Expressway Replay Video It happened just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators say a 2018 Honda sedan collided with a 2017 Nissan sedan in the eastbound lanes as the two vehicles were attempting to turn onto Exit 60. The Honda stopped in the center lane, and the Nissan stopped on the exit ramp. Both drivers exited their vehicles and determined neither was injured. The driver of the Honda, identified as 29-year-old Stephen Neville, of Lake Ronkonkoma, got back into his car, which was then struck by an eastbound FedEx cargo truck, causing him to be ejected from the vehicle.

Stony Brook s cancer center in application process for Nation Cancer Institute designation – The Statesman

SHAH ALI HAIDER SHANTO/THE STATESMAN The Stony Brook University Cancer Center is currently in the application process to become a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated Cancer Center, according to a report by Vice President of Health Sciences Kenneth Kaushansky. The NCI currently has 71 total designated Cancer Centers within the United States. Becoming NCI designated would require Stony Brook to be on par with some of the top cancer centers in the country. The NCI will recieve Stony Brook’s application in October and evaluate the cancer center early Spring 2022, according to the report. “Most of the NCI designated cancer centers are from very large university based programs, and most of them are from large cities,” Dr. Roger Kerzetes, the Cancer Center’s hematology/oncology fellowship program director, said. “We have all the research and clinical skills that we stand a good chance at designation.”
