Wiltshire Court is looking for new busineses to move in Rodbourne: A family house could be extended to become a home of multiple occupation. Wayne Evans wants to add the extension to 32 Jennings Road, and convert the inside into a six-bedroom house. If approved, it would have a shared kitchen and large dining room, two bedrooms on the ground floor and four on the first floor. Two bedrooms would have an attached study and most would be en-suite. Highworth: Cotswold Vehicle Recovery Services, which operates out of a site in the Blackworth Industrial Estate, has applied for retrospective permission to use its base.

No increase for next Stratton tax precept despite impact of pandemic

THE council tax precept for Swindon’s biggest parish will not increase next year despite the pressures of the pandemic. Councillors from Stratton St Margaret made a successful effort to balance the books while managing the impact of the coronavirus crisis and keep the budget level so that people living in the area would not face a higher bill during this difficult time. Coun Barrie Jennings is the chair of the finance committee and made the recommendation to do all they could to avoid increasing the precept. He suggested that due to the amount of properties in Stratton increasing over the last year while the precept is set to remain the same at £1,369,964, the cost needing to be paid by each Band D household for 2021/2022 will actually drop by 1.1 per cent.

Castle Eaton: A business that turns thrown-away food and scraps into gas is looking to expand. Biomethane Castle Eaton Ltd runs an anaerobic digester on a site in the country just south of the village near Cricklade. Anaerobic digesters take organic material such as food or garden or agricultural waste, and lock it into airtight tanks. This increases the rate of breakdown of the material and creates methane gas to be used for energy and compost. The company has asked for permission to install another digester, an effluent lagoon for run-off from new silage storage bays it wants to put in and a rainwater pond, as well as an office building and weighbridge.
