Man arrested, charged with homicide in Stroud Township shooting
An East Stroudsburg man has been arrested after allegedly shooting two people, one fatally, at his Stroud Township home on Tuesday.
Randy Halterman, the 66-year-old owner of 2040 Paradise Trail, called 911 around 5:30 p.m. and was taken into custody after Stroud Area Regional Police officers arrived.
Inside his home, officers found a woman who had been shot twice, and a 20-year-old man, Adam Schultz of East Stroudsburg, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman, whose name was not released, was flown to a hospital for treatment of wounds to her chest and abdomen.

A revolt among maximum custody inmates at Monroe County Correctional Facility ended peacefully with no one injured on Wednesday night.
Warden Garry A. Haidle issued a release Thursday morning detailing the attempted insurgency, which occurred at 8:10 p.m. Jan. 7 as 13 to 15 maximum custody inmates refused orders to lock into their cells.
What exactly sparked the event is uncertain as of Thursday morning.
“That’s under investigation now at the DA’s office, and my administration, we can’t give any details out at this time until they finalize that,” Haidle said.
As the inmates continued to disobey orders from the guards and began acting hostile toward the staff, supervisors utilized a pepper ball launcher to control the situation.
