Trump Says Farewell at Airbase Send-Off, Leaves a Note for Biden Bloomberg 20/01/2021 Jordan Fabian and Jennifer Jacobs
(Bloomberg) Donald Trump departed the White House a final time as president Wednesday, skipping Joe Biden’s inauguration and instead throwing a military-style send-off for himself before leaving for his Florida resort.
“I will always fight for you. I will be watching, I will be listening, and I will tell you that the future of this country has never been better,” Trump said at Joint Base Andrews outside of Washington before boarding Air Force One a last time. “I wish the new administration great luck, great success.”
The House is set to issue a largely futile ultimatum to Vice President Mike Pence on Tuesday, demanding he invoke constitutional authority to remove President Donald Trump from office, as a prelude to an expected vote to impeach the president for the second time in little more than a year.

On Sunday, South Carolina Rep. James Clyburn, the third highest-ranking Democrat in the House, floated a somewhat counterintuitive even confusing theory.
Clyburn’s Democratic colleagues have introduced one article of impeachment against President Trump for inciting a deadly insurrection against Congress; they are vowing to consider the resolution as early as Wednesday unless Trump resigns or is removed pursuant to the 25th Amendment.
But even if House Democrats impeach Trump this week for the second time in 13 months and they have the votes to do it Clyburn suggested they could wait until the spring to actually transmit the charges to the Senate for a trial, which would decide on Trump’s responsibility and punishment.
