The principal of Stonybrook Intermediate and Middle School in Warren Township said the student ended up in his office after refusing to take his hat off in class, feeling ashamed of his hair. “I sat down with him and asked him why and what was going on. He said he just got his haircut and didn’t like the way it looked. He thought his hairline looked a little funny,” Smith told WRTV.

Jason Smith, the middle school principal at Stonybrook Intermediate and Middle School in Indianapolis, understood that feeling. And that’s why it was a no-brainer to jump into action for one of his students, Anthony Moore. Moore was wearing a hat, which is against the school’s dress code. After the student spoke with a school dean for about 30 minutes, Smith was asked to step in.
