The 17-year-old male shooting victim succumbed to his wounds while in surgery at the Providence Medical Center in Everett.  The Snohomish County Medical Examinerâs Office will now be assisting with the Homicide Investigation.
Detectives are asking for the publicâs help in piecing together the events prior to and immediately after the shooting. If anyone with home surveillance cameras located in the adjacent neighborhoods located to the north and south of Marysville-Pilchuck High School could check their video footage.  If so, please look for any suspicious activity between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on the evening of Jan. 5.  More specifically, any activity involving male subjects walking or running in the area.  Please contact the Marysville Police and provide the information if any activity is located.  Your piece of information could help complete the puzzle.  Thank you.

A hiker who died near Lake Serene Monday was identified as a 49-year-old Mountlake Terrace man.
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday that search and rescue teams on Monday afternoon recovered the body of the man, who died while hiking near Bridal Trail Falls. The victim was hiking with a family member around 2 p.m. Monday when he fell. Other hikers nearby began performing CPR while search and rescue teams responded to the area.
The victim was on the Lake Serene Trail approximately 1.5 miles from the Bridal Veil Falls Trail. Fire and aid ground teams arrived first on scene and took over lifesaving efforts but were unable to revive the victim. At this time, it is unknown if the death is related to a medical incident, the sheriff’s office said.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identification of the 33-year-old man who was found near the 100 block of Pioneer Highway East in Arlington Dec. 22 as Daniel C. Shields of Edmonds. The cause of death iwas determined to be blunt force injuries. The manner of death is pending further investigation, the medical examiner’s office said.
Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies recovered Shields’ body around 8 a.m. Dec. 22 in a field near the roadway, in the 100 block of Pioneer Highway East. A resident driving by had discovered the body.
