OFFICIAL: Iker Casillas joins Real Madrid Foundation

Real Madrid have officially confirmed Iker Casillas’ return to the club, announcing that he will join the Real Madrid Foundation as an Assistant to the General Director. Casillas’ return was all but confirmed after he decided not to run for president of the Spanish Football Federation, and the former goalkeeper himself explained many times during the last few months that he’d like to work for his lifelong club.

Barca to play Real Sociedad, Real Madrid to face Athletic Club in Spanish Supercup semis

MADRID, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) Reigning La Liga champions Real Madrid will play Athletic Club Bilbao in the first semifinal of the Spanish Supercup, while FC Barcelona take on Real Sociedad in the second after the Spanish Football Federation made the draw on Thursday.
Barca face Real Sociedad in Cordoba s Archangel Stadium on January 13, while Real Madrid face Athletic Club a day later in the La Rosaleda Stadium in Malaga, while the final will be held in the Estadio de la Cartuja in Sevilla on Sunday, Jan. 17.

The Spanish Football Federation drew the two Semifinals for the 2020-2021 edition of the Spanish Supercup and Real Madrid will face Athletic Bilbao, with Barcelona and Real Sociedad playing for the remaining spot in the Final. The match between Real Madrid and Athletic will be played on January 14th in Malaga.
Athletic proved to be a tough team to beat when Madrid faced them just two days ago. While they were down to 10 men after just 13 minutes, Los Blancos didn’t have an easy game and they should expect more of the same in this Semifinal.

RFEF block signing of Lescott by Racing Murcia
Joleon Lescott, the former Manchester City, Everton and Aston Villa central defender, who retired in 2017, will not be signing for Racing de Murcia.
A club statement issued two weeks ago indicated that the club president would be bringing in the former England international for one game only, the Murcia Copa de Rey match against la Liga side Levante.
However it seems as though the Murcian Third Division club has now been stopped from making the signing by the RFEF, the Spanish Football Federation.
As such, Club President, Morris Pagniello has issued an official statement notifying the cancellation of the move and apologising to the fans.
