WALLINGFORD â Jennifer Sanguano does television news in Boston five days a week. Sometimes, more often than she would like to admit, her hair is a mess, and she never likes the sound of her voice.
âI donât want to watch myself. I just want to turn around from the television,â Sanguano said recently. âIt is so surreal to see yourself on TV.â

Sign-ups have started for a free income tax preparation program for eligible taxpayers offered in Meriden and Wallingford.
The phone system, online scheduler and Virtual VITA platforms went live Monday morning.
All of HRAâs sites offering document drop-off â including Meriden, Wallingford, New Britain, Bristol, Farmington, Plymouth and Vernon â are scheduled to open the week of Feb. 1.

A program offering free income tax preparation for low-income taxpayers is bringing back a hybrid model in Meriden and Wallingford, offering in-person document drop-off and online appointments.
The Human Resources Agency of New Britain plans to start scheduling appointments on Jan. 19 for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.
