TUESDAY UPDATES: Boone County reports lowest number of active coronavirus cases in nearly a month

The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is reporting six new COVID-19 cases for Tuesday.
There are currently 57 active cases in the county.
The county now has a reported total number of COVID-19 cases of 18,321.
The county has reported the total number of cases removed from isolation is 18,178, a 13 case increase from Monday.
The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services dashboard has reported the latest five-day average as seven.

The community is inching closer to the goal of having half of the eligible Greene County residents vaccinated against COVID-19 by Memorial Day, but health department officials are hopeful that will happen. If we keep up the current pace, we definitely can meet that goal of reaching 50 percent full vaccination by Memorial Day, said Cara Erwin with the Springfield-Greene County Health Department. But we are saying very strongly: We need to keep up that pace. We talk about finishing strong and how this is a marathon, not a race.
Greene County entered the yellow phase of its Road to Recovery plan on April 16, which meant the 50 percent occupancy restrictions on some local businesses were removed.
