The unsatisfactory condition of the National Stadium track has forced the Athletics Association of Barbados (AAB) to stage the first three meets of the new track and field season at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex.
Last month, officials at the AAB announced April 24 as the start date for the 2021 athletics season with the Back On Track 1 event, but at the time, venues were yet to be determined.

Two people, one a policeman, were injured in a two-vehicle accident early yesterday morning.
It occurred on Government Hill, St Michael, near Springer Memorial School, around 5:35 a.m. and both vehicles were extensively damaged. Part of the wall of the Government Hill Seventh-Day Adventist Church was damaged.
The police vehicle was driven by Constable Mario Richards, who is attached to the Black Rock Police Station, while the car was driven by Mark Parajohn, of Work Hall, St Philip.
Lawmen said Richards lost control of his vehicle, resulting in the vehicle striking the church’s guard wall before colliding with the car driven by Parajohn.

Although their positions were already confirmed, double crown queens UWI Blackbirds and former champions Chargers brought an exciting climax to the end of the Goddard Enterprises Limited division one volleyball season on Thursday night at the Wildey Gymnasium.
Shakera Hall led the Blackbirds to a 25-19, 26-28, 25-19, 25-19 win for UWI to end with a 13-1 record and 59 points. Chargers who had lost their knockout title to UWI finished runners-up with 51 points from a 10-4 record.
Hall enjoyed tremendous support from captain Dania Hamilton and six footer Tenielle Chapman-Goodluck to deny Chargers a season ending morale victory. Former Barbados captain Thonya Joseph gave over a dozen of her placard waving student from the Springer Memorial School many moments to scream down the Gym.
