York man dies after crashing into utility pole, officials say Updated 8:42 PM; A York-area man died on Wednesday after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a utility pole, according to officials. Springettsbury Township police said officers responded to the 1500 block of North Sherman Street at 11:23 a.m. for a vehicle crash into a pole. Tim Snyder, 74, of Springettsbury Township, was the driver of the car, York County Coroner Pam Gay said. Gay cited police as saying it appeared Snyder lost control of his vehicle before crashing. Snyder was transported to WellSpan York Hospital where he died from his injuries, Gay said.

Updated: 9:56 AM EDT April 15, 2021 YORK COUNTY, Pa. A 74-year-old York County man was killed Wednesday in a single-vehicle crash in Springettsbury Township, authorities say. Tim Snyder, of the 2300 block of North Sherman St., lost control of his vehicle and struck a utility pole on the 1500 block of N. Sherman St. at about 11:23 a.m., according to the York County Coroner s Office. Snyder appeared to have suffered a choking incident at the time of the crash, the coroner determined. He was transported from the scene to York Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at 12:01 p.m. despite numerous life-saving measures.

Wolfe who also worked for York County Children and Youth Services and volunteered in scouting pleaded guilty to molesting 20 children between the ages of 4 and 11, all of whom took swimming lessons from him. Sixteen of the 20 children were between the ages of 5 and 7. Four of the victims were girls, 16 were boys. Wolfe indecently touched them in his home pool and at three pools he rented time at between 1992 and 1997, often with the children’s parents just feet away but entirely unaware, according to court documents.

Office of Open Records orders North York to turn over Liberty Fire Co. audit York Dispatch The state Office of Open Records this week ordered North York officials to provide The York Dispatch with an audit of the now-disbanded Liberty Fire Co. The borough has 30 days from Thursday to turn over the audit  which borough officials commissioned at the same time York County detectives were investigating former Fire Chief Stephen Miller, who was later charged with embezzlement. The York Dispatch filed several right-to-know requests seeking the audit from North York borough in March 2020 and January. The borough denied the requests, claiming the audit was related to criminal and noncriminal investigations and therefore exempt from Pennsylvania s Right to Know Law.
