Two Holland women seriously injured in Olive Township crash

OLIVE TWP. Two passengers in a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado were taken to area hospitals following a single-vehicle crash Friday on Port Sheldon Street.
One of the passengers, a 68-year-old Holland woman, is in critical condition at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital. The other passenger, a 40-year-old Holland woman, is in serious condition at Holland Hospital.
The crash happened at 3:57 p.m. Friday, April 9, on Port Sheldon Street, east of 128th Avenue.
The preliminary investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff s Office determined the Chevrolet was traveling westbound on Port Sheldon Street when the driver, a 74-year-old Holland man, drove off the roadway and crashed into a tree.

HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) A 56-year-old Allendale man landed in Spectrum Health Butterworth last night after his motorcycle got hit by a car, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Michael Hallmeyer.
The Allendale man had been on on Honda Valkyrie motorcycle, westbound on Lake Michigan Drive near Edgewater Avenue, when a 22-year-old Allendale woman, driving a Pontiac Grand Am, pulled out of a McDonald’s parking lot and into his path, police said.
The Allendale man had been wearing a helmet, but complained of rib pain and went by ambulance to the hospital, Hallmeyer indicated in his statement to media. The man’s injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, according to Hallmeyer.

HUDSONVILLE, MI A woman taking part in a motorcycle training class was injured when she lost control of a motorcycle in a parking lot, police said.
Rescuers responded about 8:10 a.m. Saturday, April 3 to the area of Corporate Grove and Corporate Exchange drives for the mishap.
The area is near the Grand Rapids Harley-Davidson dealership.
Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies said the 31-year-old Grand Rapids woman lost control of a motorcycle in a parking area and it went into a grassy area. Police did not give other details about the incident, but said the woman was injured.
