The Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber has announced its nominees for the annual chamber awards this year. Several of them take into account the COVID-19 pandemic. The chamber has released the following:
The Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber is proud to announce the nominees for their annual chamber awards to be presented at the 2021 Business Recognition Event on March 10
th.
This year, the Chamber has added a new Pandemic Excellence category to specifically recognize businesses and organizations who managed to stand out in their industry and step up for their community, despite the unprecedented challenges brought on by COVID-19. Five new awards will be given in that category, along with the traditional five Organizational Excellence awards.
COVID-19 vaccines are starting to become available at Berrien County providers other than the Berrien County Health Department and Spectrum Health Lakeland.

The Pavilion project at Spectrum Health Lakeland has entered its second and final phase. Spectrum Health Lakeland spokesperson Jessica Springer tells WSJM News Phase I was completed in March of last year. With a new phase of construction underway, those who go to the hospital in St. Joseph should know how to get in.
“They will still park in the parking garage and enter the hospital via the first floor, and once you enter that existing entrance corridor, you will see a new temporary entrance off of that,” Spring said. “You will follow that and eventually you will be greeted by a Lakeland team member.”
