SPOKANE, Wash. A fatal crash involving four cars occurred on eastbound Sprague in Spokane Valley Thursday.
According to a press release from the Spokane Valley Police Department, at approximately 3:35 pm. Spokane Valley Deputies responded to the report of a four-vehicle crash on eastbound Sprague, east of Fancher, near the I-90 overpass.
According to the Spokane Valley Police Department, eastbound Sprague from Fancher were closed, including the westbound I-90 on-ramp from Sprague. All lanes have now been reopened.

Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs Co-Deployed team data for March 2021 illustrates success assisting individuals in mental health crisis amid restrictions from the Covid-19 pandemic and a high volume of calls for service relating to behavioral health crisis.
Officers from the Spokane Police Department (SPD), a Deputy from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), and an Officer from the Spokane Valley Police Department co-deploy with clinicians from Frontier Behavioral Health (FBH) to assist those caught in “crisis” within the community. A “crisis contact” is described as a person who is experiencing increased emotion and decreased reasoning.
The 16-year-old was last seen at around 3:30 p.m. on April 13, 2021.

SPOKANE, Wash. The Spokane Valley Police Department is looking to the public for help locating a teenager who may have run away from her residential living facility.
Kazmira Swanson, 16, was last seen at around 3:30 p.m. on April 13 at a residential living facility near Mayhew Road.
Swanson is a white female, approximately 5 4 tall, 115 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing pink pajama pants and a gray, zip-up sweatshirt.
In a press release from SVPD, they said Swanson is new to the area and has a history of running away. Swanson may be susceptible to the influence of strangers and may be in a dangerous situation. Police said she also suffers from depression and operates mentally at an 8-year-old level.

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information following the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Owar Opiew at a birthday party in Spokane Valley.
Owar was a sophomore at Mead High School when his life was tragically cut short on Feb. 6, 2021.
According to the Spokane Valley Police Department, they did not get much information from party attendees and witnesses at the scene. However, from the information gathered, they do not believe the shooting was a random incident.
According to police, deputies responded to multiple calls of gunshots in the 900 block of South Beige Road on Saturday, Feb. 6. When officers got there, they found Opiew lying on the ground. They then attempted to provide life-saving aid to the teen until Spokane Valley Fire and AMR arrived and took over medical care. However, the teen was pronounced dead at the scene.
