Cave Paintings and Sculptures
A map of decorated caves in western Europe with the names of a few notable or outlying sites. The broken line encloses caves decorated in the distinctive Mediterranean Style which seems to have been little influenced by the master artists of France and Spain. It often features simple, stark animal representations together with quite elaborate geometrical designs. There are important caves decorated in the Mediterranean style in southeast Spain, the Ardèche canyons in southern France, the heel of Italy, and in Sicily.
There are now some 200 Painted caves known in southern France and northern Spain. Several new discoveries in the remote Spanish Basque country appear to be closing the gap between these two main regional groups which, in any case, certainly share many correspondences of style and theme.

Cancellus is a distinctive genus of hermit crabs in the family Diogenidae, containing over 15 recognized species.
Most members of this genus live in pieces of rock, sponge, coral, or other firm substances, rather than in gastropod shells as is more typical for pagurid hermit crabs.
Named
Cancellus heatherae, the newly-discovered species features several minor anatomical differences from other members of the genus.

Wonder Woman 1984 and the Melodrama of the Gods
The sequel wants nothing to do with a recognizable reality. Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot are here to clash with titans.
Warner Bros.
Wonder Woman 1984. They’ll tell you everything you need to know about
Patty Jenkins‘ intention. When Diana Prince (
Gal Gadot) swings in on her lasso and yanks a jewel thief into the air, the extras plummet their jaws, and their eyes stretch to fill their entire faces. These are not reality’s representatives; they’re champions of melodrama.
As a product of the gods, Wonder Woman roots herself in the theater. All the world’s a stage, and every seat is cheap. The front row gets the same performance as the back row. Her adventure is loud, and the world constructed around it, even more so.
