AAA Kozhikode Mayor Beena Philip is reported to have skipped a meeting on Sunday that discussed the advantages of urine therapy after public health activists raised objections to it.
According to sources, the event was organised by Kerala Sivambu Padhana Koottayma, a collective of urine therapy practitioners, whose theme is ‘Urine, water for life’. It was to commemorate P.N. Urine Therapy, with the ‘Sreschtacharya Award’. Ms. Philip was supposed to open the event in which practitioners of urine therapy explained their experiences.

Sarita, two others did not appear in court to hear verdict The Kozhikode Judicial First Class Magistrate’s Court on Thursday issued an arrest warrant against solar scam accused Sarita S. Nair, Biju Radhakrishnan, and B. Manimon for not showing up in court to hear the verdict in a cheating case.
Magistrate K.K. Nimmi adjourned the pronouncement of the verdict till February 25. The court also nullified the bail granted to the three accused and rejected their application seeking exemption from appearance in the case.

Ninety-five-year-old Annamma was all smiles as she left Government Higher Secondary School, Punalur, on Tuesday. One of the complainants who attended Santhwana Sparsham 2021, the Chief Minister’s public grievances redressal adalat, the elderly woman had bought ten cents of land with her entire savings at Karavaloor around five decades ago.
But it took her some years to realise that the land had no proper documents and Ms. Annamma has been running from pillar to post to resolve the issue. Though it became all the more difficult for her after her husband Daniel’s death, she never stopped fighting. Her 50-year-old wait ended on Tuesday as Fisheries Minister J. Mercykutty Amma, Forest Minister K. Raju, and Cooperation Minister Kadakampally Surendran handed her the title deed of the land. Ms. Annamma, who attended the adalat with her grandson Joji, expressed her gratitude to all Ministers before leaving the venue.
