Srinagar: Power supply in most of Kashmir was restored but roads still lay under snow even in Srinagar on Thursday. The divisional administration said that all essential services were expected to be restored completely by Friday across Kashmir.

Stranded truckers appeal for evacuation from Patnitop
JAMMU, Dec 29: Hundreds of truck drivers including oil tankers who got stranded on 270-kilometer-long Srinagar - Jammu highway amidst fresh snowfall at Patnitop, appealed IGP Traffic to evacuate them and safeguard their lives.
Talking to reporter over phone, a truck driver namely Sajad Ahmad Khatana said that there are around 2500 trucks stranded on Srinagar -Jammu highway right now since last three days. He said the stranded drivers have consumed all stuff what they had available in their tucks and now are going without food since last three days as authorities have stopped them from moving ahead.

SRINAGAR, Dec 29: Parts of Jammu and Kashmir including vast areas of the Valley today experienced fresh snowfall, leading to the closure of the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway and zero temperatures were recorded overnight in most places across the Kashmir Valley.
Amid heavy cloud cover, there was a light snowfall in Srinagar where minimum temperature settled at 0.0°C, a Meteorological Department (MeT) official said. The snow recorded in twenty-four hours till 8:30 am was equivalent to 0.8mm in Srinagar while Gulmarg received 23mm fresh snow, highest across the Valley, during the same time.
