Swindon Crown Court A CARTERTON man who gave false information after a traffic stop was warned he faced jail. David Seager, 46, gave another person’s details when he was stopped on March 13, 2019, in Chippenham. Appearing before Swindon Crown Court on Monday, Seager, of Alvescot Road, Carterton, pleaded guilty to a charge of perverting the course of justice. Judge Jason Taylor QC told Seager’s brief Susan Cavender he would adjourn for pre-sentence report. But he warned: “You know the normal sentence for this type of offence, so it’s given on a no promise basis. “He should expect an immediate custodial sentence but it is right a report is prepared so you have the maximum mitigation available to you.”

Swindon Crown Court A WOMAN who panicked and drove over another’s leg walked from court with a £100 fine and six penalty points. Rebecca Timmins had been due to stand trial charged with causing injury by dangerous driving after running down the female driver on the A4 near Beckhampton on October 18, 2019. The 42-year-old denied the allegation but, after discussions between the lawyers, returned to Swindon Crown Court on Thursday to plead guilty to careless driving. The plea was accepted. Prosecutor Susan Cavender said Timmins was on the A4 between Marlborough and Calne when she was overtaken by her victim, who was in a dark grey Ford Galaxy. The woman’s child was with her in the car.

Fullers Avenue, Cricklade Picture: GOOGLE A WARRANT was issued for the arrest of a Cricklade brawler after he was a no-show at court. Shane Allen, 31, had been due to be sentenced for threatening behaviour and possession of a baseball bat. It was said that he threatened unlawful violence against five people in Cricklade on August 10, 2019, and was in possession of the baseball bat in Fullers Avenue on the same date. Last month, Allen, of Cherry Tree Road, Cricklade, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of threatening behaviour. He also admitted possession of the offensive weapon. Allen’s barrister, David Lee, told Swindon Crown Court on Friday morning that the defendant was told by his solicitors to be at court by 9.15am. He had not answered repeated calls from the lawyer that morning.
By Advertiser Reporter A LONDONER is said to have peddled heroin and crack cocaine in Swindon. Alisha Bell, 24, formerly of Lambeth, south London, is said to have worked with Chante Wright to deal the class A drugs between June 2018 and March 2019. Prosecutors also claim she was caught in possession of heroin and crack cocaine in Swindon on July 17, 2018. Bell denies the allegations against her. Appearing before Swindon Crown Court on Friday via the HM Courts and Tribunal Service’s Cloud Video Platform conferencing software, Bell pleaded not guilty to two counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
