Now a Bristol man has been given a suspended prison sentence and banned from driving for a year. Luke Alders, 19, of Kenmare Road, Bristol, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs, possession of a lock knife, possession of cannabis, driving without a licence and with no insurance and obstructing an officer at Swindon Magistrate s Court on Tuesday. The teenager has been disqualified from driving and was handed a six-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, for the possession of the knife.
A WARMINSTER man was fined £50 after he admitted failing to attend probation appointments. Callum Caldwell, 19, was given a two year community order by Weymouth magistrates last year for driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance. He was ordered to complete the thinking skills programme and 150 hours of unpaid work. He’d completed an initial appointment for the thinking skills programme and done two hours of his community service before the schemes were paused during the lockdown. Michelle James, for the probation service, said Caldwell missed two appointments in January. She asked for magistrates to allow the order to continue. Appearing before Swindon Magistrates’ Court, Caldwell, of Swaleside Road, Warminster, admitted breaching the terms of his community order.

Swindon man Kenneth Nyoka, 54, had been due before magistrates in Southampton and Luton in 2017 to face charges of failing to provide and drink driving. When he failed to turn up for either hearing warrants were issued for his arrest. But it wasn’t until more than three years later that he was picked up by police in Swindon and put before the magistrates. Prosecutor Keith Ballinger told the bench at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday afternoon that Nyoka had been stopped behind the wheel of his BMW in Dunstable Road, Luton, on March 30, 2017.
